What is NRTL?
The United States has a federally mandated program for the safety of electrical products used in the workplace. This program is governed by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and is called the NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) program.
The NRTL program is defined in the United States Federal Regulations, specifically Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1910.
The NRTL Listed Mark ensures compliance of products with North American safety standards, such as electrical, gas and other safety standards. It also assures that the manufacturer’s facilities comply with certain standards and are subject to periodical inspections.
This is being handled by the ITL Safety Team.
